McDonald’s has confirmed it has no plans to introduce a drive-thru operation at its planned new Wokingham location.
A local media outlet today reported how residents had objected to the site, in Bridge Retail Park on Finchampstead Road, quoting a resident who submitted comments alongside an advertising planning application who felt the location was “unsuitable” as a drive-thru location.
Several planning applications have been submitted to Wokingham Borough Council pertaining to advertising consent and internal layout changes to the former Carpetright unit, but none have indicated plans for the fast food giant to include a drive-thru lane at the site.
A spokesperson for Mcdonald’s told Wokingham Today: “There are no plans for the Bridge Retail Park restaurant to include a drive-thru lane.
“We are still in the planning process, so cannot confirm any timings (regarding an opening date) just yet.”
