Businesswoman Shelley Otway Wood, the CEO of Steppin Out Stars of Tomorrow, has collected several prestigious business awards.
The dance school owner won silver awards in both the ‘Most Inspiring Businesswoman’ and ‘Best Business’ cateogories in the Best Businesswoman awards.
Six students from the school also opened the awards, performing a 10-minute
routine, choreographed exclusively for the event.
Steppin Out Stars of Tomorrow offers weekly classes in Wokingham and Woodley for 3.5-17 year olds in dance, drama, singing, ballet and tap.
The Best Businesswomen Awards are designed to recognise the achievement of female-owned businesses and charities across a wide range of business categories, and are open to any female business owners.
Debbie Gilbert, organiser of the awards, said: ‘This is the 10th year of the awards, and we have recognised more than 1,000 women since we launched.
“The selection process is rigorous, and to be one of our winners is a major achievement.
Shelley has had her business in the Berkshire for 15 years.
During that time she has nurtured students in West End shows Les Miserables, Chitty Bang Bang and Matilda, and has helped children grow in confidence and gain life skills.
This year she has also won several other award, including “Theatre School of the Year”, “Best Business Woman working with Children and Families” and “Business Leader of the Year.”
