The annual Wokingham Community Awards are back for a fourth year and are set to be bigger and better than ever, with Wokingham Today collaborating with Wokingham Sports Council to give even more recognition to deserving groups and individuals across the borough.
Wokingham Sports Council chairman Nigel King said: “Wokingham Borough Sports Council is delighted to be able to work with Wokingham Today in organising this year’s Wokingham Community & Sports Awards.
“This gives us the opportunity to recognise some of the sporting achievements of clubs and individuals in the area, by re-launching some of the awards presented at the successful Sports Awards we have organised in previous years.”
The awards will once again be held at the fabulous All Saints’ Church in Wokingham, taking place from 6pm on Wednesday, October 28.
The CLASP charity choir will be performing as guests enter the church from 6pm, with a drinks and canapés reception, followed by the awards presentation from 6.30pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy a wonderful evening celebrating the fantastic stories of the amazing things local groups and individuals have done across our borough.
The Borough Mayor will once again be handing out certificates to the winners on the evening.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll tell you more about the awards, including meeting our hosts, sharing stories of past winners and much more.
