Wokingham Borough Council is set to receive additional funding of more than £500,000 following the approval of its bus service improvement plan.
Cllr Paul Fishwick, Wokingham Borough Council’s executive member for active travel, transport, and highways, noted the department of Transport required all transport authorities to update their bus service improvement plans on an annual basis.
He said: “We’ve got an enhanced partnership agreement with our operators which seems to be working very well.
“We’ve also seen bus enhancements, such as the Lion 4 and X4 from Reading Buses, where they put something like £2.8 million lb into that particular route.
“There are further enhancements to come, and I hope to announce some of those at full council.”
