SOLAR Together Berkshire, says there’s just one month left to register for the chance to buy solar panels and battery storage at a competitive price, through pre-vetted suppliers.
Solar Together and Wokingham Borough Council, who organise the group buying scheme, say they want to help residents and businesses to save on energy bills while supporting the borough’s journey towards becoming carbon neutral.
David, from Wokingham, is one of more than 500 Wokingham Borough residents who are now generating renewable energy through the scheme.
He has had 12 solar panels and a battery installed.
David said: “Despite one scheduling problem during the installation, the overall experience was good.
“The various workmen involved were very competent and easy to get on with.
“The process has generally worked very well, the installation is working well and the bulk buy discount helps make the project economically attractive.”
The more people who register, the more competitive the price becomes, say the organisers.
All residents living in one of the participating council areas and who own their own house (or have permission from the landlord to install a solar PV system) can register for the Solar Together group-buying scheme.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (non-domestic) and Commonhold Associations meeting this requirement can participate as well.
There is just one month left to register, with the scheme closing on Friday, August 8.
