A READING accountancy firm has launched a revolutionary tool to help business owners answer all their burning tax questions.
Tax Genie is the brainchild of Reading accountant James Clayton, and is powered by the latest AI technology.
James, from Dead Simple Accounting wanted to create a resource that could tap into the wealth of information on the HMRC website, but was easy to navigate and ensured business owners got the answers to their questions without any distractions.
“You can’t use Tax Genie to make a wish and pay your tax, but it will certainly help many small businesses address key tax issues,” he explained.
“Business owners shouldn’t have to pay an accountant to find out how to register for VAT or what they can include as expenses, nor for answering basic accounting or tax questions.
“There are lots of accountancy blogs online, but it is often hard to know how up to date and relevant the information is. It is common to jump from one ‘expert’ to the next online and before you know it an hour has passed, and you are nowhere nearer to finding out the answer to your question.
“HMRC’s website is a brilliant resource. Everything you would ever need to know about tax is on there, but crucially it can be very difficult to navigate and find the answers to often simple questions. That’s where Tax Genie comes in.”
The AI technology used in Tax-Genie.ai is trained to solely use information from HMRC. James and his team do not allow it to collect information from blogs or any other non-official sites, so users can be sure the information is accurate and up to date. The tool is programmed to source information relevant to the last tax year and this tax year, so every detail is extremely accurate.
James came up with the idea in 2017 when he bought the tax-genie domain. It has only been the last few weeks that his passion project has started to become a reality as the AI technology was transformed into this useful business tool.
Tax-Genie.ai is a one-stop shop for tax. It will literally answer any tax question, from VAT queries to employer tax to National Insurance & more.
If for some reason Tax-Genie doesn’t know the answer to the question, it will direct the use to the most relevant and helpful HMRC webpage or they can speak to one of the Dead Simple Accounting team.
