At its recent mayoral selection meeting, Wokingham Town Council selected councillor Rob Comber as its mayor elect for 2024-25.
Cllr Comber has been a Wokingham town councillor since 2023, representing the ward of Wescott East.
Since being elected to the Council, he has been a member of the finance & personnel committee, and Deputy Mayor in 2023-2024.
Cllr Comber’s appointment will be formally ratified at the Council’s annual meeting, locally known as Mayor’s Sunday, on Sunday May 12.
Cllr Comber said: “I am honoured to have been elected to serve both the town and the town council as mayor.
“Since being elected as a councillor, my work has introduced me to many wonderful organisations and people that serve this community.
“They give generously of their time, effort and money, and I am incredibly pleased that as mayor, I will be able to promote Wokingham both to, and through, these organisations.”
