A YOUNG and newly-qualified driver had a lucky escape following a collision in Bracknell on Sunday night.
A crew from Bracknell Fire Station was called out to Mill Lane at approximately 7.30pm having received reports a Vauxhall Astra had left the road and collided with two lamp posts.
Firefighters were needed to make the vehicle safe, although it has since been declared a write off.
The driver did not suffer any injuries and was out of the car when the emergency services arrived.
However, it was later discovered the motorist had only passed his test 10 days earlier.
Engineers were also called out to repair the damaged lights.
