There are currently no trains between Wokingham and Reading – and the situation is expected to remain that way until 9pm this evening.
Earlier today, South West Trains discovered a defective piece of track and urgent works are taking place to remedy the situation.
Network Rail says that safety checks are being made on the line between the two towns. As a result there are delays of up to 30 minutes to journeys between these stations.
Trains are unable to run from Wokingham to Reading. Buses have been requested.
South West Trains passengers may use Great Western Railway services between Reading and London Paddington and London Underground services on reasonable routes.
