New plans submitted to Wokingham Borough Council will, if approved, see the planned new McDonald’s restaurant in Wokingham open from 6am until 11pm throughout the week.
Agents for the landlord have applied for a change in permitted operating hours of use at the former Carpetright store in Bridge Retail Park on Finchampstead Road.
Previously, permission was granted only for operations to start at 7am.
Documents submitted alongside the application include a prediction of levels of traffic during the earlier opening times.
The fast food giant has also applied for permission to locate its plant equipment within the unit, as opposed to externally.
It said this would make the best use of the building, and provide inherent mitigation for noise, maintenance, etc.
It said: “The use of the building for a restaurant or mixed use of a restaurant and takeaway shall only occur on the ground floor of the building.
“The first floor shall only be used for plant and associated equipment.
“The proposed amended wording would only allow the use of the first floor for plant equipment, with the use of the building as a mixed restaurant and takeaway use only being permitted on the ground floor of the building.”
The consultation for the change in hours and the location of the plant equipment, is open until August 7.
