A new multi-use games area (MUGA) has been unveiled by Arborfield parish council.
The new facility has been financed by the council and aims to provide an option in the park for older children.
The MUGA includes cricket stumps, a football goal and a basketball hoop, and is set to provide hours of fun for children at a loose end over the summer holidays.
The parish council asked footballers from The Coombes School to try it out.
The students from years five and six were accompanied by their PE teacher, Mr Weeks, and their teaching assistant, Mrs Burjer.
The boys had great fun and definitely did not want to go back to school when Mr Weeks told them their time was up.
The talented youngsters made the quarter final in the Berks and Bucks County Cup this year under their captain, Oscar. Vinny was also able to demonstrate his skills in the District National Cup at the Stoke City ground earlier this year.
A spokesperson for the council said: “A big thanks to the students and staff from the Coombes, who came along to enjoy our new MUGA.
“Thank you too, to Stacey in the school office for making it possible.”
