Reading FC came from behind to draw 1-1 to Norwich at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Tuesday night.
Despite a strong first half, where they reduced the Canaries to just one shot, the Royals found themselves a goal down early in the second period.
A corner on the 50-minute mark ricocheted off Josh Sargent before skipper Grant Hanley turned home from close range.
Reading responded soon after with Jeff Hendrick firing home from outside of the box, claiming his first goal for Reading.
Paul Ince’s men were able to close out the draw, securing a valuable point which keeps them third in the Championship.
Joe Lumley 6: Was not forced into any saves of note and could not do anything with Norwich’s goal. His distribution could have been more accurate at times.
Nesta Guinness-Walker 7: Continued where he left off on Saturday. Full of energy and was not afraid to test Aarons, particularly in the first half.
Tom Holmes 7: Lost Hanley for Norwich’s goal, however the stand-in captain was otherwise resolute at the heart of the back five. Succeeded in keeping the dangerous Pukki quiet.
Sam Hutchinson 7: Brought energy to Reading’s defence. Although a little overzealous, picking up an unnecessary yellow early on, the defender .
Tom McIntyre 6: A good display from the centre-back, who rose to the challenge of handling the in-form Josh Sargent.
Junior Hoilett 8: Exceptional. Quality deliveries from Reading’s right created clear-cut chances for Carroll and Ince. Caused Byram problems all game,
Tyrese Fornah 6: Came across to offer Guinness-Walker support. Not afraid to drive with the ball. Was fortunate a sloppy pass was not capitalised on by the Canaries.
Mamadou Loum 6: Marshalled the midfield competently, doing well to pick up Norwich forwards drifting into the pocket in front of Reading’s defence.
Jeff Hendrick 8: An outrageous finish from the Irishman. Was unlucky not to break the deadlock in the first half through a well-struck effort from distance. Pressed well out of possession.
Tom Ince 6: A so-so night by the winger’s lofty standards. Seemed on-edge, receiving an early booking for a poorly-timed challenge. Stuck at it and offered a threat through the middle.
Andy Carroll 6: Used his power to great effect, dominating the aerial battle with Norwich’s back line. Could have got on the scoresheet had it not been for the reflexes of Krul.
