Thames Valley Police hope to be able to re-open the A327 within the next couple of hours, and are warning motorists to avoid the area following a serious collision.
Recovery vehicles are on their way to the junction between New Mill Lane and Park Lane, which has been closed following the incident earlier this morning.
Social media reports suggest that three cars are involved, but this is currently unconfirmed, however Thames Valley Police have confirmed that this is a serious collision.
The recovery trucks will take the cars away, enabling the police to be able to re-open the road.
The Wokingham Paper understands that an air ambulance has been sent to the scene as well as numerous police cars, ambulance crews and a team from Berkshire Fire and Rescue.
