A power cut affected homes in the Shinfield area today.
The electricity went off at 7.52am this morning and was finally restored shortly after 4pm.
Scottish and Southern Energy sent a team of engineers to the site to restore power, and as part of these additional generators were installed.
The company also sent its welfare van to Hyde End Lane, where the company offered instant meals, hot drinks and wifi to anyone who needed it. They also checked up on vulnerable residents to ensure they were OK.

A number of tweets were sent out during the day to keep customers updated on progress.
Sorry for the #Powercut in #Shinfield and the surrounding areas. There will be an update at 10am if any properties remain off at that time.
