A Premier League club appears to be closing in on signing Reading-born Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens.
Gittens, who was born and grew up in Reading, played youth football for local side Caversham Trents spent more than five years in the Royals Academy from 2013-18.
Having also spent time in the academies of Chelsea and Manchester City, Gittens made the move to join Bundesliga giants Dortmund in 2020.
It is now being widely reported by a number of national outlets that Chelsea are pursuing a deal to sign Gittens from the German side for around £50million.
Having suffered a torn ligament injury during his debut season in Germany, he has managed to shine on the biggest stage for Dortmund since.
The winger had his best season yet in the 2024/25 campaign and netted 12 goals for Dortmund as they finished in 4th place in the Bundesliga.
Several big European sides are now competing to sign Gittens this summer, but it appears that Chelsea are leading the race with the player keen on a move to the Premier League.
