On Wednesday 27th March I was lucky enough to appear on BBC Radio Berkshire to talk to Phil Kennedy, the Drivetime host, about my upcoming trip to the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia, US this summer.
I am a member of Berkshire’s Unit 62 (aka The Berkshire Blue Bears). My unit consists of 36 young people and four adults.
I was selected after spending a FREEZING weekend on a camp along with 200 other young people hoping to be selected, all from across Berkshire.
Out of those 200 I was one of the lucky ones to be selected as part of the Unit. Since then we have met up across the county to plan, experience new things, build ourselves as a team and have fun together.
The Radio studio was very busy as news came in about Theresa May’s possible resignation, with news reporters dashing between the newsroom and the studio to give updates.
During my interview, I was able to share my itinerary, some of the activities I will be taking part in as well as having the opportunity to meet other young people from across the world.
It’s going to be an experience of a lifetime!
