A ranch house could be built in Hurst if Wokingham Borough Council grants planning permission.
Plans submitted to the council show a large building complete with stables, a pond with decking, a wooden porch and imposing, red brick pointed roof and awnings.
There would also be an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a sunbathing patio, an outdoor sofa area, and a detached garage.
It would be built at Ashdown Farm on Maidenhead Road, just west of Shurlock Row.
The site is currently stables.
The application wants permission to convert the use of the land to joint-residential and equestrian use. It would use the existing stables, as well as two large horse paddocks.
Planning agent, ET Planning, days the proposal is to build a two-storey ‘ranch’ style.
It adds: “It will be constructed from a range of sympathetic materials which can be controlled via condition in the event of a grant of planning permission”.
It also argues that the ranch would give the owner “direct access to their horses” which are already kept there.
