The Reform UK party in Bracknell has mourned the loss of American conservative activist Charlie Kirk who was killed on Thursday.
Mr Kirk, an American conservative and free speech advocate, was killed after being shot at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, September 10.
He died aged 31 and is survived by his wife and two children.
Paying tribute to him, a post by Reform UK Bracknell on Facebook says: “We are deeply saddened to hear of the tragic passing of Charlie Kirk, a passionate activist, tireless campaigner and influential voice in political youth engagement.
“Charlie dedicated himself to sparking debate, energising young people and standing firmly for what he believed in.
“He founded Turning Point USA and became known for his ‘American Comeback Tour’ and the ‘Prove Me Wrong’ events, always ready to engage, challenge and stir conversation.
“On behalf of everyone at Reform UK Bracknell, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and all who were inspired by his work.
“His loss is felt not just within the conservative movement but across the wider political landscape where the courage to speak and debate is so precious.
“May we honour Charlie’s memory by rejecting political violence, promoting respectful public discourse and striving for the honesty and conviction he stood for.
“Rest in peace, Charlie. You will be remembered.”
Turning Point USA, a campus activism movement in 2012, which involved speaking and engagement tours. He also founded Turning Point UK in 2018.
Nick Tenconi, the chief operating officer of Turning Point UK, is also the current leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP).
