With mental health high on the agenda, a boutique health studio is opening this month in Wokingham, where Pilates becomes a tool for both mental and physical healing.
Babs Afolayan founded his first Reformer Pilates Studio in Reading in 2017, after moving there from London. With nearly two decades of industry experience and fifteen years with Reformer Pilates, he has seen first-hand the benefits it brings.
Founder of Refresh Health brand, Babs, said: “We are really excited to bring the Refresh brand to Wokingham as it’s a known for it’s independent businesses, and a great area for families and young professionals. We are confident the local people of Wokingham will be interested and will benefit from Reformer Pilates and the Wellness programme we plan to offer.”
He says that his ambition is to spearhead a major health club brand, centred around Reformer Pilates.
After opening his first studio in Reading, that was followed by a second in Pangbourne last year. Babs with the Refresh Health Studios has sought to create a welcoming atmosphere, an open door where all may enter. He added that the staff at Refresh are keen to support those who come into the studios on their journey.
They see clients as individual people with individual needs, but also individuals welcomed into a community, supported in their individual quests to live happier, healthier, more confident lives.
All staff are encouraged and supported to achieve a Teacher Training programme leading to a recognised industry qualification. Babs says that he is keen to ensure that all studios are equipped with the latest state of the art equipment.
One example of this is the Ultra Tesla Seat, which uses high-intensity electromagnetic energy. This technology rebuilds deep core strength, improves pelvic health, and enhances wellbeing — all while you sit comfortably and relax.
