A NEW retirement development in Wokingham went on show to the public in the Town Hall last week.
Renaissance Retirement’s Fleur-de-Lis development, which is currently being built off Wiltshire Road, held the information day on Tuesday, July 11 for anyone interested in learning more about the new properties.
Potential buyers were able to speak to members of the development team over a cup of coffee and a scone and browse the various marketing materials.
Marketing director Chris Whatton said the day had been a success. He explained: “We opened at 9am and by midday we’d had nine walk-ins, people who had dropped in because they wanted to know more.
“We have currently sold 70 per cent of our apartments off-plan, which is very unusual but it proves that this is a very popular development, right in the town centre within walking distance of all the local shops and amenities.
“Most of the people who have come by have been local, they are thinking about downsizing but they may have lived in their homes for 40 years so it can be a bit daunting.
“As well as offering them a wonderful place to live, our developments offer a social aspect, connecting people with like-minded residents, which has proved very popular.”
Fleur-de-Lis offers 33 individual one and two-bedroom luxury apartments, and is set to be launched later this year.
