BEN HENDERSON scored two tries as Rams continued their winning start to the season with a convincing win at Hazelwood.
Having kicked off the campaign with a bonus-point victory over Canterbury, Rams wasted little time in getting in front again on matchday two.
Henderson was the first to cross following a driving line-out and the lead was doubled before the 10-minute mark when Jak Rossiter stormed the length of the pitch to score.
Wild Geese responded with a try of their own, but Seb Reynolds’ men were soon back on the front foot as they raced 24-7 ahead by the break thanks to tries from Ross Crame and Jamar Richardson.
After a quiet start to the second half, Rams crossed the whitewash again on 54 minutes when Henderson finished off a patient move.
Irish reacted well, forcing the visitors back inside their own 22, but a counter-attack score from Andrew Denham killed any hope of an unlikely comeback before replacement Joe Duffelen completed the 41-10 win in the final minute.
“In patches we played some quality rugby,” said head coach Reynolds.
“But it wasn’t quite the complete performance I would’ve liked.”
Rams face the only other side with maximum points so far on Saturday when they host Henley (2.30pm).
