A busy road in Finchampstead will remain closed while a ‘dangerous’ tree is safely removed.
Wokingham Borough council acted quickly after reports of the tree first appeared on social media on Thursday morning.
The tree – outside Finchampstead surgery – on the B3016 Finchampstead Road was reported to have split, and was in danger of falling.
The road was closed on Thursday afternoon, and the council said it will remain closed “until further notice” while the tree is made safe.
A diversion, via Wellingtonia Avenue, Sandhurst Road, and Nine Mile Ride is in place.
