ONE of Wokingham’s busiest junctions is to be shut to traffic overnight tonight.
Roads by Wokingham Station will be closed from midnight until 4am tomorrow morning to allow Wokingham Borough Council to fix manhole covers.
The roads affected are:
- Station Road
- Station Link Road
- Wellington Road
During the works, there will be diversions in place:
- Traffic from Barkham Road (heading towards Wokingham) will be diverted via Oxford Road (HGVs will be diverted via Bearwood Road)
- Traffic from Wellington Road will be diverted via Langborough Road and Easthampstead Road (HGVs will be allowed through)
- Traffic from Reading Road will be diverted via Shute End, Rectory Road, Wiltshire Road, Peach Street, Denmark Street, Finchampstead Road and Molly Millars Lane
The closures come on the same night that work starts on resurfacing London Road, which sees more road closures in place.
