Wokingham Borough Council has acted quickly to address confusion in Twyford.
Deliveries of the final supply of blue bags were supplied with a leaflet suggesting recipients’ household refuse collections would remain unchanged from August.
The majority of households in the borough are set to receive a wheeled bin for refuse collections later this year.
Residents took to social media to voice their concerns.
A spokesperson for Wokingham Borough Council confirmed that its contractor, Veolia, had mistakenly delivered the wrong leaflet to a small number of properties yesterday morning (Monday).
The spokesperson added: “All properties who received the wrong leaflet were visited today (Tuesday), and given the correct leaflet with a note apologising for their mistake and explaining that the second leaflet is the correct one.”
