OLD KING COLE was a merry old soul who called for his fiddlers – and we reckon if he was still alive today he would be calling for members of a band who performed in Woodley last month.
To celebrate the bank holiday weekend, Woodley Town Council invited The Craigievar Ceilidh Band to give a special show in the Centre Stage in the Crockhamwell Road shopping precinct.
The free event attracted a large number of people who were able to join in with singing Scottish tunes, learn some dance steps and meet the fiddler who performed in the classic film Four Weddings and a Funeral.
The town council is offering free hire of the new Centre Stage, which replaced the Pagoda, to bands, charities, community groups, performers and schools.
