A FIRE was reported in Wokingham earlier today – but its cause remains a mystery.
A crew from Wokingham Road fire station was dispatched when the alarm was raised just before lunch, although details of the incident were limited to an area close to junction 10 of the M4.
The pump spent around an hour searching the area, covering places such as Hurst and Emmbrook, but could not find any signs of fire or smoke.
A decision was later taken to report the incident as controlled burning before the crew stood down and returned to the station.
It is the second time this week such a call has been made, with firefighters from Wokingham sent out to Nine Mile Ride on Tuesday morning after a burning smell was reported.
That too was unable to be located.
