ONE of Wokingham’s newest businesses has celebrated its first few months of trading by donating a cheque to a local hospice.
Sedero Lounge, in Central Walk, started trading in October and pledged to raise money for a different charity every month.
On Friday (December 15) general manager Claire Spence and several staff from the Lounge gathered to present Mary-Ann Leader from the Thames Hospice, in Windsor, with a cheque for £1,055.30.
Claire said: “We pledged to donate 50p from every burger and 10p from every coffee sold during our first month to the hospice, and we are thrilled to have raised such a huge amount.
“I’d love to thank all of our customers who have not only welcomed us into Wokingham with such open arms, but who have been so generous towards our appeal.”
Mary-Ann said: “This money will mean so much to the Thames Hospice, it will pay for a syringe driver which is such an important piece of equipment for our patients and staff.
“Thank you to the Sedero Lounge staff and customers for raising such a fantastic amount.”
