CHURCHES Together in Wokingham has organised a procession to mark Palm Sunday.
A real donkey will pass through town, in a re-enactment of the first Easter story more than 2,000 years ago.
The donkey will begin its journey at All Saints church, Wokingham, making its way into the town centre before returning to the Norreys church, where visitors can enjoy lunch, and children can take part in crafts.
On its way, the beast of burden will visit three other Wokingham churches, as people remember Jesus’ final journey to Jerusalem, riding on a donkey.
Associate priest at All Saints Church, the Reverend Hannah Higginson, said, “ Everyone is welcome.”
The event will take place on Palm Sunday, March 24, with the following steps.
11am – The procession will set off from All Saints Church.
11.15am – The donkey willI arrive at Wokingham Methodist Church.
11.25am – The group will visit Wokingham Salvation Army.
