A WOODLEY children’s charity has benefited from a connection made through a seminar.
Me2 Club, which is based in Headley Road welcomed Alex Barfield from The David Brownlow Charitable Foundation to its headquarters on Monday October 30, where they took receipt of a donation of £8,400 from the foundation.
The two organisations met through the Berkshire Community Foundation Charity Seminar, which is chaired by Lady Catherine Stevenson, who was also present for the cheque presentation.
The money will pay the charity’s rent for an entire year.
Mr Barfield said: “What Me2 Club does is completely in-line with the Foundation’s ethos: to enhance the lives and wellbeing of individuals and communities where there is an element of disadvantage. They provide opportunities for children and young people with disabilities which most of us take for granted, such as going to Brownies or Cubs.
“This money will help the charity continue to operate, because without this hub, there would be no Me2 Club.”
Me2 Club Manager Tess Eagles said: “We are extremely grateful to The David Brownlow Charitable Foundation for this donation. Every penny makes a huge difference to the charity.”
