A planning consultation has opened into Wokingham borough council’s full application for proposed change of use of the first floor of the former library at 54 Denmark Street in Wokingham.
The application seeks to convert the first floor to a post-16 SEND hub, including full replacement of external fenestration, the installation of a new double-door entrance at first floor level, installation of a new heat pump system, replacement of existing AC units at roof level and installation of additional solar panels.
The executive committee of the Wokingham Society supports the application.
They wrote: “This is a significant public building, and it is important that its value to the community should continue through the necessary investment in making it fit for purpose for the special educational use intended.”
For more details see application 252868 on Wokingham borough council’s planning portal.
The consultation runs until February 12.
