RAIL services between Reading and London Paddington are subject to severe delays and alterations this morning following a train fire near Twyford which resulted in lines being closed.
The incident happened earlier on Wednesday along a section of the track between the village and Maidenhead, with emergency services called out to tackle a small electrical fire, which has now been put out.
Four lines, however, were blocked between Reading and Slough while work was carried out to deal with the matter and to get the affected train moving again and services up and running once more.
They were reopened just after 10am, but it is likely to take some time to clear the backlog.
