Male singers of all ages can enjoy a fun musical afternoon in Charvil.
Vocal teacher Suzanne Newman is teaming up with colleague Richard Adams for a new venture called, Let’s Sing – For Men.
She has previously led similar afternoon sessions for women and girls, but this event is designed especially for male voices.
“I teach piano as well as singing,” said Ms Newman.
“And a number of my boy piano students said to me that they also like singing.
“So I’ve decided to run a special afternoon of music for men and boys.
“It could be a great activity for dads and sons to sing together, an opportunity to have some fun and try something new.
“We’ll start with a good warm up and breathing exercises, followed by some fiendish tongue-twisters, and then a couple of singing rounds, including: What Shall We Do With The Drunken Sailor? and, Sweet Caroline.”
In a round multiple voices sing the same melody, but they start at different times.
On reaching the end of the piece, singers return to the beginning and start again.
“Because it’s a single afternoon of music, Let’s Sing could also be especially helpful for any men who don’t have time to commit to regular choir rehearsals,” Ms Newman added.
The event takes place in Charvil Village Hall, on Saturday, September 30, from 2pm until 4pm.
Tickets cost £10, including music and refreshments.
