IN SEPTEMBER an audience at Wokingham Theatre will be able to support public art champions Arts4Wokingham while watching an exciting thriller.
Dead Guilty, by Richard Harris, tells the story of a young woman left with serious injuries following a car accident.
Three people take different opportunities to look after her, but which of them has reason to harm her? Or is she just losing her mind?
Ticket holders for the show’s opening night will directly support Arts4Wokingham through their purchase, with proceeds from the performance going to the charity.
Paddy Haycocks from Arts4Wokingham has cooked up an extra special treat for the first night audience.
He said: “I’ve been in touch with Richard Harris.
“He’s written lots of crime thrillers and screenplays for TV shows, including The Sweeney and Shoestring.
“He has sent us a signed copy of the play, plus a unique personal note on why he wrote it in the first place, and we will be offering this as one of two special raffle prizes on the night.
“The other is an original framed poster of the show when it first ran at the Apollo Theatre in London in the mid 90’s, and which comes with another unique endorsement by one or two of the stars who took part.”
The raffle on the night of the performance will also have up for grabs some desirable food tokens for local restaurants, wine, a vineyard tasting and tour and a top notch Calvin Klein fragrance for men.
A few tickets still remain for the charity performance, and Arts4Wokingham is hoping to fill the auditorium to help fulfil its aim to champion public art installations in the town.
“The arts are the soul of any community and Wokingham needs to nurture these if it is maintain its place as one of the most desirable places to live in the UK,” said Paddy.
Dead Guilty’s charity night at Wokingham Theatre, is on Wednesday, September 3.
The bar is open from 7pm, with the performance starting at 7.45pm.
Tickets cost £19.40.
