12.30pm Rebecca Jayne
LIFE and work for Rebecca Jayne lies somewhere between Reading and Nashville.
At just 23, she has toured America playing live shows and festivals before heading back home for some more this side of the pond.
Rebecca has charted in both the Top 100 iTunes Singles Charts and Top 40 iTunes Album Charts with her self titled debut EP released in 2016 and her second EP titled ‘Things I’ve Done’ in 2018.
Her music is a delightful mix of Country/Folk/Pop which has gone down a storm at events such as CarFest (organised by radio presenter Chris Evans), The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville as well as being played multiple times on BBC Introducing’s Track of The Day.
With more writing and recording underway, Rebecca is one to watch as an upcoming unsigned artist.
1.30pm Wokingham Choral Academy
THEY were hailed as ‘the find’ of last year’s festival, and Wokingham Choral Academy is back again in 2019 with their upbeat mix of popular classics and songs from the shows.
WCA is a community choir singing SATB (Soprano, Tenor, Alto, Bass) arrangements of a broad range of songs, with professional choral direction and musical accompaniment. Now in its fourth year, they rehearse, during school term time on Thursday evenings at Emmbrook Junior School.
For the festival, the repertoire will be full of sunshine and fun with a bit of everything from The Beatles, Rogers & Hammerstein, and Sondheim to folk songs from around the world, madrigals, and some of the choral classics. You can’t fail to love this group who seem to enjoy being on stage and singing as much as the audience do.
2.30pm Jaxannah
JAXANNAH is a delightful close harmony singing group offering a wide repertoire of show songs, love ballads and pop classics.
The keyboard and violin ensure a complete and unique live audio accompaniment. If you want to hear something familiar yet different, then you will be both surprised and enthused by this band who are quickly establishing a name for themselves not just around Berkshire but further afield.
3.45pm Sophie Al Noah
THERE are not many artists who can take a familiar song, disassemble it and then piece it back together create a new vibe or layered sound.
But that is exactly why audiences love Sophie Al Noah. Inspired by the greats such as Stevie Wonder and Hendrix but with a love of modern riffs and tracks, Sophie loves bringing a range of music to whatever audience she plays to.
As a solo guitarist and singer, Sophie loves live music which she says is special with its unique rawness. She says: “I love it, to be able to perform to others and share my music with them couldn’t make me happier.”
5pm City Ignites
With Luke Wright on vocals and Huw Roch on guitar and vocals, you are set for a treat from these two guys from Wokingham. Their rock acoustic cover re-imagines rock and metal songs for the acoustic setting.
7.30pm Days are Done
Days Are Done is singer/songwriter Emmy Kay and BAFTA-winning TV and Film composer Adam Lewis.
Brought together just over two years ago by a series of musical coincidences and collaborations, their sound is a distinct amalgamation of Folk-Americana classic songwriting, mostly written in their front rooms in Kingston-Upon-Thames.
The enigmatic blend of their vocals showcases their undeniable chemistry both recorded and live.
9pm Marc Woosnam
Marc Woosnam is a Berkshire based acoustic solo singer/songwriter, whose musical roots stem from the Seattle grunge scene and branch out to blues, rock, and folk to give him a unique sound in modern music.
A musician for over 25 years, Marc has played on various stages in bands and has recently started performing as a solo artist in his own right, drawing on his life experiences to produce music of love & loss, of good times & bad, creating compelling melodies with powerful vocals and relatable lyrics.
