Borough performance group EBOS presents classic children’s story Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
East Berkshire Operatic Society (EBOS) says the group is delighted to be showcasing this family favourite, complete with wonderfully nasty children and a small army of Oompa Loompas.
Family musical, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, is based on the original 1964 Roald Dahl story.
It follows the fortunes of Charlie Bucket, a kind and loving boy who lives in poverty with his mum and grandparents, but who dreams of being an inventor.
When Charlie wins a special ticket to enter the magical and mysterious Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, he takes Grandpa Jo with him for the trip of a lifetime.
Inside the gates he encounters nasty children Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde and Mike Teevee.
Only one of the children will receive the grand prize.
Will it be Charlie, or will one of the other undeserving children steal it from him?

Director Emily Burton said: Rehearsals have felt a bit like stepping inside Willy Wonka’s factory itself; full of surprises, laughter and a touch of mischief around every corner.
“The cast has been bubbling with creativity, and it’s been a treat watching the story burst to life.
“For me, personally, it has been an absolute joy to see my vision come to life in the hands of such a gifted cast and crew.
“Each rehearsal has been a reminder of how magical theatre can be when imagination, dedication and collaboration come together.
“I feel deeply grateful to be surrounded by so much talent and heart, and I cannot wait for audiences to experience the wonder we have created together.
“We hope audiences leave with their imaginations fizzing, their hearts a little lighter, and a sweet reminder that anything is possible if you dare to dream.”
