Thousands took part in this year’s successful Wokingham Half Marathon.
Hundreds more lined the streets to cheer them on.
The race, sponsored by David Cliff, allows half marathon first-timers to run alongside established club members.
It starts and ends at Cantley Park, taking runners through the town and onto surrounding rural roads lined with volunteer marshals.
A children’s mini mile race allows youngsters aged four to 11 to take part and win a medal too.
Wokingham Borough Council congratulated the organisers as well as the runners.
“Such a great atmosphere, with supporters doing a great job cheering everyone on,” said a council spokesperson.
“And a shout out to the band near Cantley, who lifted spirits and helped get tired legs to the finish line.”
This year 3,700 runners took part in what is considered one of the south of England’s best and consistently fast half marathons.
Winners of 2025 completed the course within seconds of each other:
Overall winner was Joshua Grace – one hour, five minutes and 31 seconds
Fastest female runner was Annabel Gummow – one hour, 12 minutes and 57 seconds.
And fastest mini mile sprinter was Wilf May, who’s finish time was four minutes and 49 seconds.
Among the local dignitaries cheering runners on were Wokingham MP Clive Jones, Wokingham Borough Council Mayor, Cllr Adrian Mather, and Wokingham Town Mayor, Cllr Rob Comber.
