Wokingham is in the running to be crowned ‘the most depressing town in Britain’.
The poll is being run by satire website www.iliveHere.co.uk.
It said: “Bland, boring, soul destroying mediocrity with a gaping cultural void, this is what our new poll is about.
“This year we are ditching the usual suspects to focus on those towns throughout this septic isle that give you a almost-terminal case of ennui.
On Monday afternoon, Wokingham had recorded 0.18% of the vote, behind neighbouring Reading which has received more than 1%.
Wokingham failed to appear in the ‘50 worst places to live 2023’ report, whereas Reading took 11th place.
The satirical, entertainment website which invites contributed articles had previously described Bracknell as a “small, narrow-minded and utterly pointless provincial dustbin”, and Reading as being “.. full of pubs for people who want to drink till they throw up.”
