AN AMBULANCE was called to a train earlier today after a passenger fell ill.
Because the incident took place between Wokingham and Reading railway stations, the Reading-bound line was closed to allow emergency crews access to the passenger.
In a statement, South Western Railway said: “The Ambulance Service has attended and the passenger is now in their care. We may need to make service interventions to manage the delays to trains that were queued up on the line.
“For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.
“We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.”
The lines have since been re-opened although disruption to services is expected until 3.30pm.
