Chris Bowring, Conservative
Chris has lived in the Wokingham area since 1982 and currently lives in Woosehill having previously resided for seven years in Wokingham Without.
He was for many years a software engineer. Currently, using his degree in mathematics and diplomas in piano, he now tutors in those subjects. He also acts at Wokingham Theatre and plays the piano in one of the local nursing homes.
Chris relishes the opportunity to represent Wokingham Without residents on the borough council, working closely with the ward’s existing councillors.
His priorities for the ward, if elected, will be:
- Promoting the interests of the users of the Pinewood Leisure Centre
- Developing the land at Gray’s Farm principally for sports facilities
- Fostering understanding in the Crowthorne area of issues affecting both Wokingham and Bracknell boroughs
- Ensuring that new housing on the southern side of the railway line is supported by appropriate infrastructure.

Wokingham has been my home for five years now, it’s a great place to live and I enjoy the supportive community feel.
I am a member of the Labour Party because of my solid belief and commitment to social justice.
I am passionate about equal rights and opportunities, particularly for the most vulnerable in our community. This is reflected in my career as I’ve worked in the charitable sector for 12 years, currently as the chief executive of a domestic abuse charity.
I love people and would like to become a councillor so I can be a strong voice for the people of Wokingham and make a positive difference locally.

I have proudly lived and grown up in Wokingham Borough since I was a year old, and lived in Wokingham Without specifically for over 10 years.
I have seen first-hand the detrimental effects the Conservative run council has had on the rural communities in Wokingham Borough, with endless roadworks and congestion paired with poorly executed regeneration plans and ill thought out housing projects.
I would be an invested and hard-working councillor with no qualms about challenging the Conservatives on their sketchy record.
