A FLEA treatment for cats and dogs has been recalled by the manufacturers after it was revealed that a potentially fatal mix-up had been made in the product’s packaging.
On Tuesday it was revealed by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate that an unknown quantity of the Armitage Pet Care Flea and Tick Drops for Dogs, containing permethrin, has been distributed in packaging labelled Armitage Flea Drops for Cats and Kittens.
Exposure to even small quantities of concentrated permethrin can cause severe and fatal poisoning to cats.
Pet owners are advised to immediately return the product to the place of purchase, or to contact the company, Bio-Tech Solutions.
