R YOUNG Art Gallery celebrated its fourth anniversary on Saturday with a live painting session and auction.
The event was attended by members of the business community, artists, friends, and gallery customers.

Special guests were the Mayor of Wokingham Borough Cllr Carol Jewell, Mayor of Wokingham Town Council Cllr Louise Timlin, and Town Centre Officer Warwick Heskins.
During the day, wildlife artist Daren Mason conducted a live painting session, with the resulting picture later auctioned in aid of the Link Visiting Scheme Christmas Appeal.
The amount of £120 was raised for the charity, with Wokingham.Today publisher David Riley winning the auction.
The gallery will raise further funds for The Link at a painting class to be held at Kings Church, Wokingham, on Friday, November 21.

In their addresses, both mayors recognised the gallery’s commitment to The Link and other charities, and stressed the importance of art and culture in Wokingham, as well as the need to support the town’s independent businesses.
The Link Visiting Scheme works to ease loneliness and isolation of older residents, through activities and events that encourage friendship and connections.

R Young Gallery offers modern art pieces by independent artists, and can also provide commissioned work, framing, restoration services, and scanning and printing services.
It regularly holds painting classes in its Wokingham studio.
