A HOUSEBUILDER teamed up with a creative club to decorate its new Spencers Wood showhome.

Dandara asked members of Wokingham Art Society to create a painting to go on display at its Oakwood Place development.

Fourteen of the group’s members rose to the challenge, creating works in soft pastels, digital drawings, and oil on canvas.

Alexandra Smith created the winning entry, an acrylic painting called Girl With The Golden Earring. It portrays a woman adorned in vivid attire and striking gold jewellery.

The piece is on show with a plaque honouring her work.

She was also awarded a prize of £120 for her winning entry.

Madeline Hawes, secretary at Wokingham Art Society, said: “The art society provides a platform for members to not only share their talents but also demonstrates the diverse and creative spirit of each artist, as reflected in the impressive array of entries received by Dandara.

“We were delighted when Dandara approached our art society for this competition, presenting a wonderful challenge for our members to create pieces that harmonise with the interiors of the new show home.”

And Zoey Rampton, head of sales at Dandara Southern, said: “The entries we received from the competition were brilliant and so creative, truly underscoring the value of arts in our society.

“We are delighted to display the winning piece in our new show home and feel that it really ties everything together. Congratulations to Alexandra and all those who participated, we hope you enjoyed creating your paintings.”
