WOKINGHAM Brownies are one of a number of groups that are vying to win a share of a £15,000 prize for recycling.
Members of the 8th Wokingham pack have signed up to a challenge from recycling company re3 to increase glass recycling at the borough’s bottle banks.
Schools, charities, voluntary and community groups are being encouraged to take part in the glass recycling campaign to be in with a chance of scooping a share of the £15,000 prize draw fund.
Re3 said that the commitment could be as simple as collecting hot drinks jars after a fundraising coffee morning and taking them to a re3 glass bank to giving a school assembly or write an article in a community newsletter on the benefits of glass recycling.
Every group that signs up will be entered into the community fund prize draw.
At the end of the campaign in October next year, prizes will be allocated to 15 schools, charities or community groups in the re3 area – five each from Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham.
The more glass recycled through the campaign, the bigger the community fund, up to the value of £15,000 or £1,000 per individual prize.

Don’t forget non-food bottles can be recycled at re3 bring banks; perfume, aftershave and face cream glass bottle can all be recycled.”
