WOKINGHAM & EMMBROOK climbed up the table by making it back-to-back wins in the Combined Counties Premier League against St Panteleimon.
Mindomba and Mullan made an approach possible for Sumas but the ball was headed clear and another shot went first to Lewis Everett, St Panteleimon’s keeper. However, with the ball going to the opposite end, Noyan Tajbakhsh who was placed for an incoming cross from the left and headed in an early goal in the 10th minute to put the visitors in front.
Emerson Schra sent over a shot from the wing and Woodward pushed the ball over the cross bar for a corner kick to the visitors.
The ball was regained by Sumas and Mindomba went for goal but Everett saved easily.
Sumas took a free kick then a corner which gave them a chance to score but the ball went direct to Everett again although they returned and James Clark clinched the equaliser in the 37th minute.
Boosted by the level terms, Sumas worked the best way out of a tight spot with some crucial defending. Sumas then took two free kicks and the second from the left wing but Everett concluded that move. The visitors took two shots at Woodward’s goal before half time but missed.
In the early minutes of the second half, Sumas had a set piece, Charlie Tuttle took the free kick but the ball went wide of the upright.
Clark chased a long ball but Everett came out of his goal and won the race. St. Panteleimon took a free kick for a clumsy tackle by Jack Mullan, who was booked. Then Brandon Curtis gave Sumas the lead, scoring in the 57th minute.
Allen Bossman then added to the score line in the 71st minute. Play had certainly picked up pace during the second half. Sumas were 3-1 up and kept the shape which thwarted progress for the visitors then made a double substitution; Bossman and Mindomba made way for Badshah and Ojong.
With the ball in the area, Jack Mullan scored a fourth.
St. Panteleimon kept going although they did not look like scoring when Woodward claimed their last shot.
The match finished as the Sumas claimed three more valuable points to ease their relegation feats.
