Members of the Wokingham Islamic Centre hosted a community Iftar on Sunday in Woosehill.
The event was held to break fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
A spokesperson for Wokingham Islamic Centre told Wokingham Today:“Our community Iftar was a wonderful evening that brought together brothers, sisters, families and members of the wider Wokingham community to share in the spirit of Ramadan.
“It was especially meaningful to see people from different backgrounds come together around the same table.
“We were also honoured to welcome our local MP, Clive Jones, who joined us for the event.
“As the Muslim community in Wokingham continues to grow, we are hopeful about establishing a mosque in the town in the near future.
“”Events like this highlight the warmth, generosity and unity that exists within our community.”
Jones told Wokingham Today: “Ramadan is a time of communal prayer, charity and strengthening community ties.
”I was delighted to attend this community Iftar meal alongside local people to celebrate these shared values, and I’d like to thank the local Muslim community for opening their doors to all in Wokingham.”
