A BOROUGH reading group will be taking an in-depth look at two novels this month at their next meeting.
Wokingham Literary Society members will be listening to a talk given by John Andrew, on the works of two well-known authors.
John will be comparing and contrasting J.P.Hartley’s The Go-Between, and A Room With a View, by E.M.Forster.
The two coming-of-age stories contain many similarities, including both having been set at the start of the twentieth century.
But while both central characters undergo significant transformations in their understanding of themselves and the world around them, the two authors use very different lenses to throw light on these changes.
Wokingham Literary Society meets monthly in the Lecture Room at Wokingham Baptist Church.
Their next meeting will take place on Thursday, February 19, when John will be speaking from 7.30pm until 9.30pm.
Guests and visitors are welcome.
