A WOKINGHAM man has been jailed for 30 weeks after breaching a restraining order.
On Wednesday, March 20, Andrew Day was sentenced at Reading Crown Court after being found guilty of three counts of harassment.
The 44-year-old from London Road was found guilty by unanimous jury following a three-day trial.
The court heard that the incidents took place between Sunday, October 21 and Friday, October 26 last year. He had made calls and sent messages to his victim.
He also breached the terms of his restraining order by breaking into the house of his victim and speaking to her on Tuesday, October 23.
A day later, Wednesday, October 24, Day drove his car along a street that he had been prohibited from visiting.
As a result, Day was arrested on Monday, October 29 by officers and charged on the same day. He was remanded in custody.
Investigating officer, PC Andrea McArdle, based at Reading Police Station said: “Day knowingly breached the conditions of his restraining order multiple times.
“This behaviour is not tolerated and I hope this sentence show that Thames Valley Police takes such breaches seriously and works hard to protect vulnerable victims.”
