A BUSINESS networking organisation in Wokingham will welcome two visiting speakers to its January breakfast meeting.
Wokingham Positive Difference members will hear from Clive Jones MP and Cllr Mark Ashwell Executive Member for Business Development, both of whom will explore the theme of business growth.
Clive will share his perspective on national initiatives shaping the business environment, trade agreements and the risks from tariffs
He will outline which industries the government is looking at with regard to facilitating growth, and why they are doing so.
He will also talk about specific initiatives and policies currently being discussed in Westminster aimed at supporting small business growth, particularly in light of challenges such as rising costs, limited access to finance, and the need for digital transformation.
Mark will delve into three pivotal areas of local government that directly impact business growth in the community: economic development strategy, town centre development strategies, and Forest of Imagination (a major arts collaboration project scheduled for Spring 2025).
Visitors to the event will be able to learn, share ideas, and expand their networks.
Entry includes buffet breakfast, and news updates from the team, local businesses, government, and community groups in addition to the keynote session.
The Wokingham Positive Difference meeting takes place at Wokingham Town Hall, on Friday, January 10, at 8am.
The session costs £25, with pre-booking essential.
