THE days of dark rooms, film canisters and fixing chemicals may be long gone for many of us, but photography remains a popular pastime.
A Wokingham borough group dedicated to the art is moving with the times, and changing its name.
Members of the Wokingham and East Berkshire Camera Club now belong to the Wokingham Photography Club.
The change takes into account digital cameras, smartphones and social media, and how they can be used in photography.
“Changing our name from Camera to Photography Club reflects the changing nature of our world”, said Glynis Jodrell, club’s chair.
“We believe that the new name will help the Club to appeal to a broader range of future members. Photography in its widest sense is what we’re all passionate about and the new name reflects that.”
Currently on summer recess, the club season for 2023/4 starts on Thursday, September 14.
