A NEW initiative from local business network Wokingham Positive Difference aims to empower 22–32-year-olds to build confidence, workplace skills, and local connections for the future.
Many parents know the feeling — their son or daughter has talent, ambition, and drive, but is still finding their way in the world of work.
They may be confident one day and uncertain the next, eager to progress but unsure what to focus on to stand out.
Responding to this need, Wokingham Positive Difference, a local business and community network, has launched the Young Professional Development Programme — a five-part practical training series designed to give young adults the skills and confidence to thrive at work and beyond.
The initiative was developed in response to feedback from local employers who value supporting their rising talent to grow in confidence, communication, and teamwork.
The programme offers that opportunity in a supportive, practical, and locally focused way — helping young adults become more confident, self-aware, and ready to take on new challenges.
Over five monthly sessions, participants develop key personal and professional skills — understanding themselves and others better, building confidence in communication, and gaining tools to make the best use of their time.
Each session is led by a specialist trainer from the Wokingham area and combines hands-on learning with real-world insight.
Small, interactive groups encourage peer learning and help participants strengthen their workplace skills and self-assurance — qualities employers value highly.
For young professionals ready to grow, connect with others, and take the next step in their career, this could be the ideal opportunity.
Starting on Friday, November 21, the Young Professional Development Programme runs one morning a month for five months — a small-time commitment with significant long-term benefits.
